Our Client:
Our client is a leading global quantitative trading company based in Chicago, Austin & Amsterdam. The business develops and implements quantitative trading strategies in exchange-traded financial products, trading exclusively for its own account. The company trades in a variety of asset classes, markets, and geographies.
The business is looking for a motivated Network Engineer to join the Systems Engineering team. This individual would play a significant role in the engineering and operation of the firm's expansive network infrastructure. This is a unique opportunity to make a large impact at a financial technology firm on the cutting edge. The ideal candidate would be comfortable working in a very fast paced and demanding environment.
The Responsibilities:
* Open-source routing daemons such as bird or quagga
* To Monitor systems such as Grafana, Splunk, ELK, Prometheus
* Establish the networking environment by designing system configuration
* Directing system installation and defining
* Documenting and enforcing system standards
* Design and implement new solutions and improve the resilience of the current environment
The Requirement:
* Bachelor's Degree in a technology related field is preferred
* Experience with EVPN/VXLAN/MPLS
* Firewalls including Cisco ASA, Fortinet, and Palo Alto
* Knowledge of Cisco Unified Communications
* CCNP in route/switch a plus
* Solid understanding of core layer 2 and layer 3 fundamentals
* Experience configuring and troubleshooting routing protocols including BGP and OSPF
* Firm grasp of multicast and how it functions at both layers 2 and 3 (IGMP, PIM)
* Comfort with scripting and automation
* Knowledge of the internals of TCP/IP with the ability to intelligently discuss and troubleshoot above layer 3
* Familiar with concepts and configurations surrounding QOS
* Experience working in a data center environment
* Experience dealing with Telecom providers and implementing telecom circuits
* Understanding of time synchronization concepts and protocols (GPS, NTP, PTP, PPS)
