Job Description

Our Client:

Our client is a US firm with over 10 years in the data center space, recently with operations in Europe and APAC. They are looking for a Cost Accountant to work with the largest Finance group and Design and Construction functions to produce insightful reporting for key business decision makers.

Furthermore, this would include maintenance and improving of the accounting database, reporting suite and controls. Knowledge of generally how construction work is essential unit will be great to have knowledge and experience of A&A or E&M.

The Responsibilities:

* Construction Cost Reporting: Build monthly actual and forecast project cost reports and conduct variance analysis for all existing projects, ensuring actual construction costs align with forecast

o Maintenance of various KPI schedules
o Create and maintain various databases related to projects and contracts for accurate insights to top management
o Update monthly EAC proformas with actuals and committed spend
o Consolidate CAPEX report, investigate CAPEX transactions, and close out queries
o Close out POs as part of the demobilization process of completed contracts
o Supporting month end and forecasting process
o Lead Construction Administration of contracts
o QA/QC for project costs to date, cost coding, and monthly forecasts
o Manage data inputs between Yardi and Procore
o Review CAPEX AP invoices and progress billing entry
o Review and issue Debtors and Invoice reports
o Carry out pay application billing review & data entry
o Support external audit process

* Fixed assets accounting

o Create and monitor a system of controls, procedures, and forms for recording of fixed assets
o Record fixed assets acquisition and disposals in accounting system
o Provide technical accounting expertise on Fixed Assets and Leases under IFRS/ GAAP, including oversight of fixed assets and leasing issues/risks
o Track the compilation of construction in progress into fixed assets account
o Execute depreciation run and depreciation reasonableness check.
o Reconcile the balance in the fixed assets subsidiary ledger to the general ledger.
o Update the detailed movement schedule of fixed assets for reporting and attend to auditors' queries
o Conduct physical inventory counts, conduct analysis, and investigate potential obsolescence of fixed assets
o Assign tag numbers to fixed assets
o Cash flow forecast on capital expenditure for hedging purpose
o Submission of fixed assets information for insurance coverage

* Implement best practices and procedures within the department
* Advise senior management on critical trends in financial performance of the company

The Requirements:

* Degree / Diploma in Business, Accounting/Finance, or related field
* 4+ years fixed assets accounting experience required
* Good technical knowledge in accounting standards (IFRS and USGAAP)
* Knowledge of general APAC tax and experience in multi-currency environments
* Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
* Proactive, diligent, and collaborative
* Hands on attitude and ability to collaborate in resolving issues
* Skilled at using various ERP and with technology in general
* Knowledge of Yardi Voyager and Procore, preferred but not required
* Data Center, Real Estate, or Construction Industry experience preferred
* Proficient in the Windows and Office 365 environment
