Job Description

Our Client:

Our client is the leading pharmaceutical company. Their objective is to implement the medical plan at the local level and support medical functions across the medical unit business. They are actively looking for a Medical Advisor to join them.

This role is to implement the medical plan related to a local/regional geographical area and within the scope of a specific Portfolio of Pharmaceutical Agents/Compounds in the Oncology field.

The Responsibilities:

Field link for clinical trials and access programs

* Liaison/feedback for clinical studies and access programs, supporting needs of HCPs

Internal scientific and medical function support

* Collaborate in the development of the Medical Plan and implement the local/regional action plan
* Deliver sales force/internal training; Provide scientific information in response to field and HCP queries
* Participate in Medical Promotional Review; Administrative work for access programs, clinical trials, product supply and delivery to pharmacy follow-up; HCP profiling

Scientific Relationships

* Participate in identifying relevant physicians/ treatment centers/HCOs
* Profile and develop plans for HCPs identified within relevant tumor streams
* Ensure all calls and profiling information recorded in MI
* Identify topics of interest among HCPs and work with local academic groups to organize peer-to-peer medical expert meetings including Advisory Boards, Symposia and post-Congress meetings

Scientific Information

* Develop a deep knowledge of the products, clinical studies, disease states and other relevant scientific activities in the required therapeutic areas, regularly updating expertise
* Cover local scientific meetings/congresses, and develop awareness and understanding of competitor medical communication, activities, and field resourcing
* Work with the Regional/Global Medical team to deliver content/review slides as needed for medical education programs and communicate expert opinion on relevant scientific and medical issues
* Provide scientific and educational information on advanced level compounds/pipeline and respond to unsolicited requests for scientific information/clinical trial requests from HCPs and internal stakeholders

Clinical Trials/ Access Programs

* Understand and be the field link for scientific projects and clinical trials initiated by clinical physicians or academic groups (investigator initiated interventional studies - IIIS)
* Understand and be the field link for relevant access programs
* Provide follow-up for administration/ product supply as needed. Follow-up to ensure/validate correct logistic/safety protocol is followed in delivery of drugs to hospital pharmacies
* Provide feedback from HCPs and provide expert opinion on ongoing studies and access programs
* Support local publications and be aware of local guidelines and status of revisions in a timely manner across all relevant therapeutic areas

Medical Plan

* Provide input to the medical team for building the country/regional medical plan
* Implement the medical plan in line with cross-functional team and the Company's corporate requirements by visiting/communicating with appropriate internal and external stakeholders

Internal Scientific Training

* To be followed to maintain medical science expertise/qualifications through internal training modules on-line and attendance at relevant local scientific meetings (both internal and external)
* Provide regular scientific updates/medical training for the sales force and internal stakeholders

Pharmacovigilance

* The Medical Advisor must ensure that Pharmacovigilance procedures are understood and applied by clinicians and investigators, and alert internal Pharmacovigilance and Drug Safety personnel to any Adverse Events that are identified
* The Medical Advisor should work with appropriate internal personnel (Pharmacovigilance and Drug Safety) to ensure that all adverse events arising from the field are collected to facilitate a correct and transparent communication of AEs both internally and to the relevant Health Authorities

The Requirements:

* Advanced degree in life sciences (e.g., PharmD, PhD, MD, MS) with prior experience in Medical Department in the Pharma Industry setting, preferably in the Oncology field
* Knowledge of clinical medicine, disease management, and medical research in at least one therapeutic area, Oncology preferred
* Understanding of statistical methods and clinical process
* Preferably familiar with local/regional health-political laws and regulations
* Minimum of 2 years' experience in life sciences, preferably in oncology including significant time in a customer-facing role
