Job Description

Our Client:
Our client's line of business includes the arranging of transportation of freight and cargo. They're actively looking for a General Manager to handle their 3PL Business Development in Singapore.

The Responsibilities:

* Develop new business for warehousing, transportation, 3PL, and any related logistics fields from new customers
* Further develop the company's business scope with existing customers of Freight Forwarding Division and 3PL Division
* Based on the full & deep understanding of customers as-is status, requirements and needs, to deliver customers best solutions and improvement proposals
* Liaise with company's 3PL division, freight forwarding business development dept and overseas offices such as sales department and technology department in the parent company in Japan to maximize the benefit of both the customer and the company
* Through above activities, to fulfil the target of 3PL business development (The first-round target will be shared by the company when the candidate is shortlisted)
* Making a grand design of company's 3PL business with Deputy Managing Director and GM for 3PL Division, and budget making for 3PL business development activity
* To establish a dedicated 3PL business development team when necessary
* Taking the lead in continuous improvement initiatives of business development activities in cooperation with the GM of freight forwarding sales to drive sustainability and further growth of the business
* Preparing necessary reports and presentation materials such as but not limited to the company's Executive Meeting, Board Meeting, Parent Company's quarterly meetings, etc.
* Report customers' and markets' trend to the Management
* In joint efforts with the FWD Sales Team, 3PL Division and Accounting Department, to follow up on payments from both existing and new customers
* Any other duties as assigned by Deputy Managing Director

The Requirements:

* At least 7 years of relevant work experience in 3PL and warehousing industry
* Experience in business development activities to the regional headquarters of MNC
* Proven track record of experience in process improvement of business development activities such as the implementation of CRM system
* Possess high awareness and interests about improvements, growth and adopting new business model & technologies
* Experience in implementation of state-of-the-art technologies such as automation technology to logistics business will be an added advantage
* Good ability to manage and effectively interact with all levels of staffs
* Possess excellent management skills and mindset
* Good ability to strategize and solve problems using creative & innovative approach
* Excellent communication and people skills
