Our Client:

With over 30 years of experience in Singapore, our client has grown to be a leading figure in offering global Logistics & Freight Forwarding solutions, (inc warehouse and supply chain management services) and as part of their continued strategy of growth & expansion withing the SE Asia market we are working with them to recruit a Tender Desk Manager for their International Freight Forwarding business.

Responsible for coordinating tender management activities for their Singapore office you will be required to manage a team to deliver quality tender proposals as well as network quotations. Acting as a main point of contact to Asia Pacific Regional Tender Desk your role will be to ensure timely delivery of competitive, top quality proposals for South East Asia geographies. Liaising with the Corporate Key Accounts & strategic Key Accounts (as well as high potential small & medium accounts) you will be tasked with responding to RFQ / RFI / RFP with a view to producing competitive Bids & Tenders to help win business.

The Responsibilities:

* Ensure compliance with Regional and Corporate tender management processes and guidelines
* Develop competitive proposals for Corporate and strategic Key Accounts, as well as identified Local and Regional Key Accounts
* Creation / compilation of document bid templates, reviewing pricing with bid owners and product managers
* Respond and assist on RFI / RFQ requests from overseas
* Ensure timely, accurate and quality responses are delivered to the requesting parties
* Support to maintain a pricing database of current transportation rates as a benchmarking tool for bids
* Update rate database as well as bid templates
* Support monthly tender data records updates and follow up on progress of submitted tenders
* Interface with other functional groups such as Procurement, IT, Legal, QHSE, Key Account Management, Industry Verticals and Trade Lane Development, as well as with customers in creating/delivering competitive and quality proposals
* Ensure post mortem analysis to be performed by bid owners for all bids, both successful and unsuccessful tenders
* Ensure received tender feedback is shared with relevant functions and areas in the organization

Team Management

* Ensure and monitor team compliance to the Company's Code of Conduct and regulations
* Plan and monitor team performance including give coaching and counselling needed to deliver expected outcomes

The Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree or above with a minimum 2 years of experience in bid / tender management, and minimum 3 years in Transportation / Logistics industry + functional experience in freight forwarding
* Excellent analytical, planning and numeric skills
* Work under pressure with sometimes very tight deadlines & possess strong organizational skills
* Be able to challenge colleagues for getting competitive and timely offer while keeping a "team work" spirit
* Pricing and market knowledge of Asia Pacific region and more specifically on South East Asia markets
* Ability to interpret company's strategy and transfer into proposals and bids and uncover new opportunities
* Ability to read, interpret and analyse RFI and RFQ documents in a timely manner
