Field Service Engineer (Substation Equipment)

Our Client:
Our client is one of the leading Japanese companies in the power electronics industry. They are actively seeking for a Field Service Engineer (Substation Equipment) to join their team in Singapore.

The Responsibilities:
• Perform site acceptance tests, commissioning and start-up assistance for LV/MV substation equipment, including transformers, switchgear, VCB/VCS and MCC
• Interface with customers on after sales service, understand and help customers define their technical needs
• Attend all maintenance related problems on site, troubleshoot and provide technical support to customers as well as resolve technical issues
• Work closely with sub-contractor in fulfilment of repair schedule
• Conduct training to enable users/customers optimizing the product performance
• Provide necessary inputs from field to engineering & factory for designing new products/refining existing products
• Ensure full compliance with all validation issues concerning the product application, controls and documentation
• Support product warranty claims and quality issue. Update customer complaints system & prepare monthly failure analysis report
• Actively interact with customers to develop service business to achieve customer satisfaction
• Project pursuit with engineering and sales teams & external consultants or contractors towards achieving project goals
• Collate and maintain project pursuit reports for management’s review and action plan

The Requirements:
• Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering/Power Engineering or equivalent
• At least 5 years of experience in a similar industry/technical servicing role
• Hands-on in servicing customers and able to work independently on job site
• Flexible and adaptable in site environment, support customer requirements with on-call system
• Sound technical knowledge in Variable Speed Drives & Substation equipment (including VCB/VCS, switchgear, transformer and MCC)
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Good planning and time management skills
• Customer-oriented, pleasant disposition and good attitude
• Ready to travel for overseas business trips
• Candidate with Class 3 driving licence has an added advantage
