R&D Electrical Engineer - (Smart Grid)

Job Description

Our Client:

Our client is a leading global manufacturer of semiconductor products within the different fields. They are actively looking for a R&D Electrical Engineer to join their team in Singapore.

The Responsibilities:

* Perform modelling and data analysis to understand and improve power system operations
* Set up the communication network of the sub-systems and components in a modern power system
* Design online monitoring framework for stable power system operations
* Research new technology for power system industry
* Conduct facility visits to support design reviews and testing

The Requirements:

* Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree or PhD in Power Electrical and/or Electronics or relevant faculty
* Minimum 3 to 8 years of relevant experiences in Power System related fields (research or industry)
* Good understanding of power system theory and engineering including power system analysis, operation, and control
* Knowledge of power apparatus equipment such as transmission lines, power transformers, power switchgear, current and potential transformers, grounding equipment and systems, and underground cable and overhead line systems
* Knowledge of power electronic-based renewable generation is a plus
* Good background in SCADA systems, Protection & Control, Communication systems and innovative smart grid concepts
* Experience with power system dynamics and/or optimization, modelling electrical networks with integrated renewable energy sources using existing analytical tools
* Some familiarity with applicable industry codes and standards such as ANSI, IEEE, IEC, NFPA, and NEC
* Experience with electric utility software applications for analyzing distribution systems is also preferred
* Background in AI and machine learning applications in power grid is a plus
* Familiar with MATLAB, Python, C++ and Simulink is a plus
* Strong oral and written communication skills
