Our Client:

Our client is a leading provider of semiconductor packaging and electronic assembly solutions. The company has a strong presence in the semiconductor industry and offers a wide range of products and services to support the assembly and packaging of integrated circuits and other electronic components.

They are seeking to hire a Senior Electrical Engineer who will be responsible for designing, developing, modifying, and evaluating electronic parts, components or integrated circuitry for Semiconductor equipment, or other hardware systems and/or electrical engineering applications. Furthermore, you will be responsible for identifying design approaches and establishing parameters. This entails analysing the equipment to establish operating data, conducting experimental tests, and assessing the outcomes.

The Responsibilities:

* Participate in the development and adaptation of new designs for next-generation semiconductor equipment within a multidisciplinary team
* Develop embedded systems supporting real-time distributed control, multiprocessing, and data analysis using ARM Processor/DSP/Microprocessor
* Design power electronics and controls for motors, actuators, and transducers, including servo drive, discrete power amplifier, and power supply design
* Design and verify multilayer PCBs using Altium Designer®
* Create continuous-flex cable designs for interconnecting bonder systems using Zuken™ E3.cable
* Coordinate the production release of PCB and cable designs through Siemens Teamcenter®
* Write specifications and documentation for new designs
* Perform bench and lab testing at the board and machine integration level
* Conduct bring-up, troubleshooting, and debugging of prototypes
* Provide support for production/field issues related to system/subsystem problems within cross-functional teams
* Perform engineering verification and execute reliability testing plans
* Ability to work effectively with outside vendors/contractors for outsourced work

The Requirements:

* Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred, with a minimum of 5 years of experience OR a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred, with a minimum of 3 years of experience
* Experience in circuit design and analysis
* Ability to comprehend datasheets and application notes for component selection
* Working knowledge of PID controls and feedback theory
* PCB design experience, including component libraries, schematic capture, and layout
* Experience with Altium Designer® is a plus
* Cable design experience for continuous-flex applications
* Experience with Zuken™ E3.cable is a plus
* Familiarity with microcontrollers and firmware programming using C
* Experience with debuggers is a plus
* Ability to read and write technical specifications
* Familiarity with FPGAs and HDL
* Experience with IP integration, RTL simulation, and timing analysis
* Knowledge of lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and current/differential probes
* Understanding of different types of motor applications, such as DC servo motors and stepper motors
* Knowledge of VME, PCIe, RS485, Ethernet, LVDS, and Serdes is a plus (at least some knowledge required)
* Understanding of machine-level electrical system architecture design is a plus
