Job Title: Cloud System Engineer

Our Client: Our client is a young, agile, and growing Singaporean IT management firm, part of a group that deliver innovative IT and fintech solutions for their customers around Asia. Their services include but are not limited to support cloud-based, on-premises, or hybrid deployment. They are looking for a Cloud System Engineer to join their team here in Singapore.

The Responsibilities:

* Work closely with clients to understand their technical needs and design cloud architectures that are reliable, scalable, and tailored to their specific requirements
* Implement cloud solutions with a focus on performance, scalability, reliability, security, and cost optimization
* Create and maintain scripts and workflows to automate repetitive tasks, enhancing operational efficiency and streamlining processes
* Implement robust security measures within cloud environments, ensure compliance with industry regulations, and conduct regular audits to uphold compliance standards
* Continuously monitor cloud infrastructure performance, identify and resolve potential risks, and optimize resource utilization for cost efficiency
* Establish logging systems to support effective troubleshooting and analysis
* Proactively address potential issues to prevent user impact, provide timely technical support to resolve challenges, and collaborate with stakeholders to develop effective solutions
* Develop and maintain detailed documentation for configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps
* Conduct training sessions and share knowledge with team members to enhance expertise in cloud technologies
* Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in cloud computing, applying innovative solutions to improve the efficiency and competitiveness of our managed services

The Requirements:

* A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is required
* 2-3 years of experience in cloud engineering or a related field
* In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with major cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP
* Experience with IaC tools such as Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, and Atlantis for automated provisioning and cloud resource management
* Strong grasp of virtualization, networking, and containerization technologies
* Preferred certifications include AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate, Google Cloud Associate Cloud Architect, Certified Kubernetes Administrator, and ITIL Foundation Certification would be advantageous
* Proficient in scripting languages like Python or Bash, with a familiarity with languages like Java or Groovy being beneficial
* Familiarity with DevOps practices, including continuous integration, continuous delivery (CI/CD), and version control and experience with Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes
* Proficiency with monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana, and logging solutions, eg: ELK stack
* Relevant knowledge of cloud security best practices, including implementing robust security measures, identity management, access control, encryption, and compliance adherence
* Relevant experienced in configuring and maintaining network resources in a cloud environment with a proficiency in Linux administration
* Strong communication, organizational, and collaborative skills essential for creating and maintaining clear, accessible, and up-to-date documentation
* Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and effective communication for resolving complex issues by identifying root causes and implementing efficient solutions
* Flexibility and critical thinking to adapt to evolving cloud technologies and trends
* Ability to understand both customer and stakeholder needs, ensuring a positive user experience, and effectively communicate technical concepts to audiences with varying technical expertise
