Trade Operations Manager (Petroleum)

Job Description

Our Client:
Our client is one of the largest Oil Trading Companies dealing with Petrochemicals, headquartered in Japan. They are currently looking for an experienced Senior Trade Operations Executive/ Manager (Petroleum) to join their team in Singapore.
You will be reporting directly to the Trading Deputy Managing Director based in Singapore. Trades and Operations scope including and not limited to the following broad areas:

The Responsibilities:
• Monitor and follow market news from agencies like Platts, Argus and Reuters.
• Exchange market developments including trades done, supply and demand balances with market reporters and counterparties.
• Conduct trades- buy and sell petroleum products on behalf of company’s system.
• Negotiate and execute both short- and long- term contracts.
• Build and maintain good working relationships with oil trading companies and refiners and explore opportunities to expand business.
• Oversees cargo operations, pre-empt operational problems and together with other members in the trading team help to resolve them.
• Help to handle full cargo operations including vessel screening; making of and countering of contractual terms; preparing documentary instructions; voyage/discharging order; calculating and negotiating demurrages; preparing pricing and invoices; monitor of payments and others.
• Assist with any ad-hoc work assign by the company.

Requirements

The Requirements:
• At least 5 years’ energy trading industry cargo operation experience, especially Petroleum.
• Strong understanding of Petroleum cargo logistics and shipping practices.
• Be updated and knowledgeable of the trend within the Petroleum trading market.
• A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Initiative, possess positive attitude, willing to learn and able to work as a team and also independently.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Organized, meticulous and possess a strong sense of urgency.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
• Maintain a mature discretion in handling confidential information/issues.
