Job Description
Responsibilities:
• Reporting to the Managing Director, the GM will manage, direct, lead and provide support to all functions within the Singapore office. These include planning business objectives, developing organizational policies, integrate functions and operations between departments, and establish responsibilities and procedures to achieve the organizations’ strategic objectives.
• Drive business opportunities throughout Southeast Asia, with the aim of expanding to new markets or capture additional market share.
• Prepare and submit sales and profit forecasts to Senior Management.
• Prepare and present Annual Operating Plan to Senior Management.
• Review financial statements to determine progress in achieving objectives. Review objectives and plan according to prevailing business conditions.
• Assess and approve departmental requests for capital. Monitor the implementation of capital investments and improvement projects.
• Sign-off cheques according to bank mandate.
• Perform talent assessments for direct reports including goal alignment and professional development. Evaluate promotion, transfer, merit raise review, and inclusion in employee retention
scheme.
• Chair Annual Management Review Meetings.
• Advocate a safe working environment throughout the facility at all times.
• Encourage the organization for continual improvements in all business areas.
• Ensure that operations are managed and controlled in an efficient manner.
• Ensure that product and service quality is maintained in its highest standards.
• Ensure the implementation of corrective actions on non-compliances in the Quality and EHS Systems.
• Ensure internal quality and EHS Audits are carried out on each department and that corrective actions are implemented.
• Define the quality and EHS objectives of the organization and monitors its progress.
• Motivate the team to achieve of the organization and monitor its progress.
• Provide support to sales department in contract review as required.
• Co-ordinate activities with all other company business units to the best advantage of the organization.
• Ensure conformance of all products and services to quality requirements and technical specifications.
• Review and investigate customer complaints and take necessary action where applicable.
• Review organization and staffing plans to ensure that resources are adequate for attainment of division objectives.
• Review and plan the training needs of all personnel, and ensure that employees reach the required level of skill and knowledge, which includes management development programme to
meet company goals.
• Review and approve procedures and work instructions ro improve work methods of production.
• Ensure that departments comply with the local government regulations and company policies, not limited to: Compliance, Quality Management and EHS System.
Requirements
Requirements:
• A Degree in Engineering or Business.
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant bottom-line business management experience in the Oil and Gas industry.
• Experience in managing Singapore-based operation is required
• Possesses extensive experience in O&G / Petrochemical industry with working knowledge of relevant international codes and standards such as: API Q1, API Q2, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO
45001
• Possesses working knowledge of the various industry codes such as API 1104, API 5L, API 6A, API 16A, API 16R, API 16C, 5CT, ASME sect IX, AWS D1.1, and must be able to work under
constants pressure whilst maintaining the required quality standards.
• Must have proven and verifiable track records as a professional engineer and business person within the Oil and Gas industry.
• Demonstrates ability to engage with all levels of the organization, and foster cohesiveness and integration amongst different teams.
• Must be an outstanding business achiever with excellent business and management skills.
• Must be capable of developing and executing successful business strategies.
