About the Client:

Our client is a world-leading manufacturing firm that looks into being the provider of Semiconductor/Electronics space. With more than 300 operating locations worldwide and more than 40 manufacturing sites, they are seeking to hire a Power R&D Engineer for their Power Division Team in Singapore.

The Power R&D Engineer is accountable for designing on-board charger requirements with a focus on compact and high-power density and assist in design of power supply hardware for various switching mode power converters.

Responsibilities:

* Design power supply hardware for various switching mode power converters (3-phase Vienna Rectifier, NPC, PFC, Flyback, Forward, Buck, Boost, Resonant topologies, and Synchronous Rectification), with power ratings ranging from 1,000W to 22,000W.

* Design on-board charger requirement with a focus on compact and high-power density.

* Ensure designs meet functional safety and reliability standards for automotive applications.

* Conduct theoretical analysis of concepts through calculation and simulation.

* Conduct practical and detailed evaluations of all types of power circuits.

* Enhance and improve circuit performance, including efficiency and reliability.

* Create 3D/2D models, assembly drawings, PCB, and schematic designs.

* Provide firmware development support using various DSP/MCU platforms.

* Act as the project key person from concept to mass production stage.

* Implement design for manufacturing and design for automation (DFx)

* Create patents and new technology, defining new power requirements.

* Lead and support electrical and firmware architectures.

Requirements:

* BSc, MSc, PhD, or researcher with 2 to 5 years of experience are welcome.

* Candidates with more than 5 years of experience will be considered for senior positions.

* Experience with EV charger and On-Board-Charger (OBC) is a plus.

* Familiarity with power measurement equipment.

* Possess solid technical knowledge of transformer, power Mosfet, PWM controller, and synchronous rectifier circuits.

* Ability to apply PID controllers and conduct control loop analysis.

* Knowledge of EMC/IEC/UL/EN standards.

* Experience in PCB schematic and layout designs.

* Experience in C programming.

* Experience with Solidworks drawing is a plus.

* Proficient in development tools such as PADS, PSIM, MathCad, LTSpice, Ansys, Matlab, etc.

* Willingness to travel for manufacturing/business supports.

* Possess good interpersonal skills and are result-oriented.
