Our Client:
Our client is a global MNC with HQ in Europe and is a market leader in the field of manufacturing precision motion control products including; Nano Positioning, Linear Actuators, and Precision Motion-Control equipment for Photonics, Nanotechnology, Semiconductor, Automation, Life Science, Space Communication, Photonics and Quantum Computing applications.
We are currently working with them to identify a Director for Global Research & Development. Heading a growing global unit, your key focus will revolves around further developing their innovation capabilities, leading the team based in Singapore you will be required to liaise with their clients across the APAC region & coordinate efforts with their R&D team in Europe to help innovate & create ever improving products in line with industry requirements, utilising the latest technologies in high precision motion control to ensure their products continue to provide the latest in cutting edge technology to their customers.

The Responsibilities:
* As part of the leadership team and supported by highly qualified and experienced colleagues, you will
o lead the Advanced Development & Innovation department
o continuously develop this core function as a global unit
o further enhance the innovation pipeline of the group
* Development of new technologies, global scouting, and state-of-the-art big data tools for monitoring trends
* Close collaboration with other global research units and across divisions with sales and marketing, product development and international sites
* You will expand their global network by partnering with customers, science, and technology leaders across multiple industries. By cooperation and early joint developments, you will enhance the speed of our innovation capabilities
The Requirements:
* You have a degree (Master or PhD) in the field of Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics or similar
* You have a passion for innovation and technology
* You have experience within a technology-driven industry, e.g. from the semiconductor, automation, medical, photonics or similar
* You have a proven track in the field of innovation and new product development, from fostering new ideas up to bringing them as products into the market
* You know how to build up a powerful organization for innovation at an international level, including a culture of creativity, innovation management, business acumen and strategic perspective
* You have already been successful in a similar international leadership role and have experience of managing highly-skilled experts across countries and cultures
* You appreciate the power of interdisciplinary collaboration within and outside the company - e.g. with customers, sales, operations, marketing, service, etc. - to identify new innovation opportunities
* You have sound experience in establishing and working in global networks and cooperating with customers, science and technology leaders across multiple industries
* You are proactive, goal-oriented, focused, and strong in communication and stakeholder management
* You have a very good command of English to be able to liaise effectively with English-speaking stakeholders and must be willing to travel
