Job Title: Principal Engineer/Design Manager (Electrical, Oil & Gas)

We are seeking an experienced Principal/Design Manager (Electrical) for major Oil & Gas projects. Depending on experience, the successful candidate will lead a team of electrical engineers and designers, managing the full spectrum of electrical design from basic to detailed engineering.

You will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and review of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications, and managing interface coordination between clients, vendors, contractors, and governmental bodies. The role requires a strong focus on leadership, project coordination, and adherence to both local and international electrical standards.

The Responsibilities:

* Part of the electrical design team, overseeing the design process from feasibility studies, FEED, to detailed design
* Prepare and review load lists, single-line diagrams, equipment sizing calculations, and system studies using tools like ETAP and PSCAD
* Lead the preparation and review of layouts, including hazardous area classifications, lighting layouts, cable and power layouts, substation equipment layouts, earthing and lightning protection layouts
* Oversee the preparation of material requisitions, specifications, and technical bid evaluations for electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, UPS, diesel generators, and capacitor banks
* Perform power system studies such as short circuit, motor starting, arc flash, harmonic, and switching transient studies
* Ensure design integrity and quality within the project engineering team, ensuring that all work complies with project specifications and industry standards
* Provide technical assistance to construction activities, including field engineering support and addressing site queries
* Coordinate with lead engineers, clients, vendors, contractors, and certification agencies to ensure timely project execution
* Manage document control lists, monitor schedules, and expedite approvals and resolutions for open issues
* Review vendor drawings and inspect various electrical equipment like LV/MV switchgear, cables, transformers, and AC/DC UPS

* Mentor and supervise electrical designers and engineers, ensuring timely delivery of all project documentation and drawings

The Requirements:

* Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
* Minimum 10-20 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on Oil & Gas projects
* Working in electrical design teams and managing the full design lifecycle of Oil & Gas Projects
* Proficiency in software tools like ETAP, PSCAD, DIALUX, AutoCAD, MS Excel, MS Word, Smart Plant Review, and Navisworks
* Strong knowledge of design standards such as API, IEC, ISO, IEEE, and NFPA
* Demonstrated experience in interfacing with clients, vendors, contractors, and governmental agencies
* Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills
* Open to short term travel
